Peaceful RALLY against Just Cause Eviction

-11:30am, Sunday April 30, 2017

Dear fellow property owners,
In the San Jose city council meeting on April 18, 2017, the council voted 6-5 to develop an ordinance that subjects ALL rental units in the city to “Just Cause Eviction” (meaning Landlords cannot evict/terminate anyone unless meeting the required “just cause” – SF style restrictive eviction control!).
The six voting for FULL just cause were Council members Jimenez (D2), Peralez (D3), Carrasco (D5), Nguyen (D7), Arenas (D8), and Rocha (D9). The new law also includes duplexes and single family homes. Further, the Housing Department was directed to return with a rent ordinance to reduce the 5% limit on rent increases to CPI (approx. 2%).
The City betrayed numerous community inputs collected in the past two years, scape-goating and discriminating mom-and-pop owners. The City is shifting its responsibility to provide affordable housing to private property owners.

Please join us for a peaceful RALLY to express our deep frustration and pursue our private property rights!

When: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm @ Sunday April 30, 2017

Where: we meet at Walmart parking lot at 777 Story Rd, San Jose, CA 95122

Thank you for your participation!
